Antum Naqvi, this time with the ball rather than the bat, gave Rhinos a big advantage in their Logan Cup match against Eagles at Harare Sports Club on Monday.
He took three early wickets as Eagles struggled to 78 for five, but a slight recovery led to a final score of 178 all out.
Prosper Mugeri scored 37 at number seven to become the highest scorer of the innings, while Naqvi’s four wickets cost 58 runs.
Alex Falao had Takudzwanashe Kaitano caught at the wicket off the first ball of Rhinos’ innings, but there followed an excellent partnership of 148 between Ben Curran and Awad Naqvi.
Curran played very fluently to score 90 off 95 balls, and by the close Rhinos at 176 for two wickets had almost equalled the Eagles score.
