Pemhiwa carried her bat through the Under-19 innings of 169 for three, striking 13 fours in her 67-ball knock.

She received excellent support from Beloved Biza, who made 46 as the pair put together a commanding 99-run partnership for the second wicket.

Faced with a daunting target, Mountaineers struggled to get going and were eventually bowled out for 56 in 18 overs.

Zimbabwe Under-19 Women won by 42 runs

Beloved Biza produced a valuable all-round performance as Zimbabwe Under-19 Women completed a 42-run victory over Rhinos Women at Queens Sports Club on Wednesday afternoon.

Biza was the only one of the Under-19s’ top five to pass 10, striking a brisk 26 off just 15 deliveries after they had been asked to bat first.

Christine Mutasa and Naomi Mhlekwa then chipped in with 25 apiece to help lift the total to 133 for eight.

Natalie Chikandinga was the pick of the Rhinos bowlers, claiming three wickets for 20 runs.

Kelly Ndiraya gave Rhinos a positive start to their reply with 33 off 30 balls at the top of the order, but the middle order found runs increasingly difficult to come by against disciplined bowling.

Biza was particularly economical, conceding just 11 runs and taking a wicket from her three overs.

Portia Chihwai made 18 off 41 balls, but by the time she was fourth out in the penultimate over, with the score on 81, the target was beyond reach.
